Although sharp macro photography usually requires a tripod, the built-in OSS (Optical SteadyShot) image stabilization makes it possible to take sharp macro photos even with a hand-held camera. The heavy stabilizing lens is driven by a fast response linear motor for fast and precise stabilization.

Quick switch between auto/manual focus setting
If you have to take your eyes off the viewfinder to switch between auto and manual focus settings, chances are you'll miss a shot. With this lens, the focus ring, which you usually hold your hand on while shooting, can simply be pulled back and pushed back to switch between manual and automatic focus settings.
