Specification :

1. Increases the focal length

Although the maximum focal length increases, the minimum subject distance hardly changes, so the magnification ratio increases for macro photography. Both teleconverters have been carefully designed and engineered to preserve the original excellent image quality of the lens. The applied BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coating helps to reduce ghosting and glare. In addition, the double-magnification model includes an LD (Low Dispersion) lens element to eliminate deviations.

2. Autofocus and VC (Vibration Reduction) features are retained with compatible lenses

The autofocus service works with compatible lenses (see below for compatible Tamron lenses). The VC (Vibration Compensation) service remains.

3. Moisture and dust resistant construction

Both teleconverters are ideal for outdoor photography with any lens that has a moisture-proof construction, because we have used special dust- and moisture-proof seals at all joints.

4. Strong and durable cylindrical design

The cylindrical body of the teleconverters is made of die-cast aluminum, except for some parts of the outer coating to retain extra strength when used with large lenses. The design uses a copper bayonet lock on the camera side and a stainless steel bayonet lock on the lens side to ensure superior durability even with repeated mounting and dismounting.

Design concept

These accessories embody Tamron's new design, born out of the pursuit of functional beauty and realized as a result of smoothly blended design and design improvements. Every detail has been meticulously worked out. The new teleconverters have a metal frame and share the same design concept. Both teleconverters are extremely easy to use — even the release lever is a pleasant touch for the photographer.

Autofocus functions work fine on any camera capable of autofocusing at an aperture of F/8 or smaller. Objects with low contrast and/or exposure values ​​sometimes result in out-of-focus images.
