Almost a decade ago, RØ DE introduced the original VideoMicro camera microphone as the first entry-level camera microphone capable of producing professional sound quality in an astonishingly compact design. Since then, the iconic microphone has become the choice of many amateur and professional creators. VideoMicro II has all the features of its predecessor that made it so successful, while adding a number of new features to enhance performance.

PRO AUDIO AS SIMPLE AS CAN BE

VideoMicro II makes it easy to create professional audio recordings with cameras and mobile devices. A true condenser shotgun microphone that focuses on the sound source with its highly directional supercardioid characteristic while effectively suppressing ambient noise. The redesigned microphone body features RØ DE's own, round-cut acoustic ports, thanks to which the microphone's sound remains incomparably light, natural and uncolored. The electronics of the microphone have also been sewn up so that even more sensitive and noise-free recordings can be made with it. The battery-free operation and the complete absence of the need for complicated settings make the microphone a very simple and quick-to-use device. It's the perfect choice for creators who want to step up the quality level of audio recordings with their camera or smart device without the hassle.

EXCELLENT PROTECTION AGAINST NOISE

One of the most striking new features on the microphone is the new shape of the vibration-damping microphone holder. This is RØ DE's proprietary microphone suspension called HELIX™ . This innovative suspension system precisely fits the dimensions of the microphone and provides a solution to many difficulties that traditional suspensions cannot fully cope with when encountering a small, lightweight microphone. Thanks to the pioneering shape of the Hytrel® -type soft plastic suspension, molded without joints, it completely isolates the microphone capsule from bumps, jolts, and vibrations caused by general use, which can cause noise in the recording. Its size fits exactly to the microphone, so it stabilizes it properly, while its optimal design does not affect the performance of the microphone in the slightest from an acoustic point of view. The microphone holder also has a cable holder to keep the microphone cable organized, and the hot shoe mount has a 3/8" tripod thread to allow it to be attached to both a hot shoe socket and a standard microphone stand. The microphone comes standard with a microphone sponge and a deluxe-quality furry wind deflector. With these accessories, the VideoMicro II can also be used for outdoor recordings, even in harsher weather conditions. Also included in the standard package is a 3.5mm TRS small jack connecting cable and a 3.5mm TRS-TRRS small jack connecting cable, with which the microphone can be connected to cameras and mobile devices.

COMPACT, LIGHTWEIGHT YET IMPOSSIBLE

With a minimal weight of only 39 grams, the VideoMicro II is especially ideal for use with DSLR and MILC cameras, action cameras and mobile phones. Thanks to its compact design, it is easy to carry, takes up little space in a camera bag, and fits easily in a belt bag or backpack. Despite its small size, the microphone is still very solid and indestructible. Attention: the operation of the microphone requires 2-5V plug-on voltage, which must be provided by the camera or other external device! In order to achieve better sound quality, we recommend turning off the AGC (automatic volume adjustment) function on the camera or recorder!
