REGULATEUR Swiss made oversize pocket watch circa 1895–1920

Antique mechanical pocket watch, pin-set (button-set), keyless winding.

Origin    Swiss movement,

Export model, assembled for Spanish-speaking or French-speaking markets.

Large 57.5 mm diameter – oversized, possibly for railway, industrial, or Latin markets.
Case    British or Swiss, Argentan (nickel silver),

Marked the 8-pointed star with "Glasgow Patent" and "1A" inside was a mark used on watch cases made in Britain (often Birmingham or Glasgow) for use with Swiss movements.

These were patent-protected case designs, known for durability and used widely for export watches. 1A" inside    Likely a grade or quality code, possibly indicating first-class production batch or case fitment.

Dial    French-labeled ("Régulateur") — export
Movement    Standard ébauche, marked "Repasse" (reworked/adjusted), Spanish subdial marking

"Repasse" is a French watchmaking term meaning "reworked" or "finished". It was used to indicate that a watch movement (typically Swiss) had been:

Revised, adjusted, or finished by a watchmaker,  Possibly upgraded from a base ébauche (blank movement),  Brought to export quality, especially for English or Spanish-speaking markets.

Movement Markings Explained:
"REPASSE EN SEGOND"
This is a mix of French and Spanish, but likely intended to read as:
"Repasse en seconde" in French = "Reworked in seconds", or more accurately:
Adjusted for seconds – implying the movement has been adjusted for more accurate timekeeping, including the seconds mechanism.
"Repasse" = reworked, adjusted
"Seconde" = seconds hand function
May also hint that the movement was finished or serviced again before being cased.

"REPASSADO DE SEGUNDA MANO"
Spanish, translates to:
"Overhauled by second hand" or more idiomatically:
"Adjusted via the seconds hand" / "Reconditioned second hand system
More likely used to indicate that the movement was serviced or reconditioned, particularly with attention to the small seconds complication.

Uses a regulator scale marked R (ReTtard / Slower) and A (Avance / Faster) — classic for French-market watches.
