The MAX98357 Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) plug-and-play speaker amplifiers take fulladvantage of Maxim's flexible bow and pin arrangements.
Compared to typical analog amplifier solutions, the componentcount is greatly reduced, resulting in a significant reduction insolution size. These features allow users to take advantage ofMaxim's cost-effective wafer-level packaging (WLP) without theneed for expensive PCBVIAs, since most users control the volumedigitally. To achieve excellent sound quality, the device uses digitalinputs with high noise immunity and high jittertolerance (at least8dB better than competing solutions). The device also providesexcellent electromagnetic interference(EMI) rejection, allowinglong-term speaker connections without the need for additionalexternal filtering. In addition, the device offers the industry's highestClass D efficiency.
