Professional IPL technology for use at home, developed in conjunction with dermatologists
IPL stands for “ intensely pulsating light” .  Philips Lumea delivers gentle light pulses to the hair follicles, leaving the follicles at rest.  As a result, hair growth gradually decreases.  After repeated treatments, your skin will be noticeably smooth.  Treatment to prevent hair regrowth is safe and gentle even in sensitive areas.  Developed in conjunction with dermatologists, Philips Lumea allows for easy and effective treatment in the comfort of your own home.

Proven safe and effective treatment
Based on objective studies, there is a reduction of at least 85% in the amount of regrowing hair after just 3 treatments. ** The first 4 treatments should be done every two weeks, after which you can see the desired results.  For a lasting result, only perform one after-treatment every four weeks.  After just 8 treatments, your skin will remain hair-free for at least 3 months. * Click on the image in the image gallery at the top of the page to enlarge it.

For both hair and skin types
Philips Lumea Prestige works efficiently, easily and safely for a wide range of hair and skin types.  It works on natural dark blonde, brown and black hairs and skin colors ranging from very white to dark brown.  As with other IPL-based treatments, Philips Lumea should not be used to treat white / gray, light blonde and red hair, and should not be used on very dark skin.  This is because there should be a high contrast between the hair and the color pigment in the skin.

Built-in skin tone sensor
The built-in skin tone sensor assesses the color of the treated skin at the beginning of each treatment - and during the treatment.  If it detects a skin tone that is too dark to use the device, it will automatically stop emitting pulses.
